Fly Jefferson Airplane

Documentary featuring the legendary rock band Jefferson Airplane. Produced by Ravin Films for Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Jefferson Airplane was formed in 1965 and became one of the most high profile acts on the San Francisco psychedelia scene. Powered by Jack Casady’s innovative bass playing and Jorma Kaukonen’s acid-tinged guitar and topped with the soaring harmonies of Grace Slick and Marty Balin they had a hugely successful career up until their split in 1973. They recorded seven studio albums, five of which were certified Gold and their “Greatest Hits” sold over a million copies in the US. They played all the great rock festivals including Monterey, Woodstock, Altamont and the Isle Of Wight. In 1996 they were inducted in to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame and reunited for the occasion. This DVD combines complete vintage performances from the period 1965-1973 together with brand new interviews from virtually all the original band members and others who worked with them. Many of their best loved tracks are featured including: White Rabbit, Crown Of Creation, Volunteers and Somebody To Love.
